1968 A much needed wonderful relaxing drive

They are meant to be driven after all. You aren't going to rack up so many miles on it that you would ever hurt the value, and as they say, you only go around once. Better to drive and enjoy it, than to regret not having done so when it's too late.

Glad that your Dad is doing well. It's a good indication that he wants to get back at it. The car is looking great! Nice that it is a rare one.

    1968 Carlite vs Herculite Glass

I noticed today that all of the glass on my GT/CS is the original Carlite, with the exception of the left wing window. It has the name Herculite etched? into it. I assume that that window was replaced for whatever reason, but the brand name puzzles me. Has anyone heard of Herculite?

    Mustang IIs

I have friends who are into the IIs and another with a nice Scarlet Cat Capri. I have always thought it would be fun to hot rod a Mustang II fastback. They have pretty nice lines, and would make a stout platform for a hopped up drivetrain.

I would agree. As much as I like the newer Mustangs, they don't turn my crank like a classic does...:grin:

For Sale 1968 Mustang GT Coupe Project

You may be correct Rob, but I just checked the Mustang Recognition Guide put out by the editors of Mustang Monthly, and it says under GT Equipment Group "The GT Equipment Group was available on any 1967 Mustang equipped with one of the 4 V-8 engines."

For Sale 1968 Mustang GT Coupe Project

I believe you are correct. 1967 was the only year that I'm aware of when you could get a GT with a C code engine.

    1968 GT/CS Book of Facts

I believe the 2011 book is being sold by Wal-Mart online now.

    1968 Tire size?

When I bought my GT/CS, it had 60 series all around. They just looked too big on the original styled steels. My car came from the factory with E70s, so I went with the modern equivalent, the 205s. They are the BFG T/A and I think they are perfect on the classic Mustangs.

1968 Time for a new stereo?

I just roll down the window and listen to the song of my Mustang.

    1968 Quick pre-road trip question

If the rad is too hot to put your bare hand on, I would be reluctant to take the cap off. JMHO... Make sure you have a couple of jugs of antifreeze in your trunk. Good luck and safe driving.
