1968 time for your input gentlemen......

Just taking the engine apart and resealing everything IMHO is a bit of a waste. If it is coming apart, it's not that much more expensive to go through the engine and see what needs to be done. If you are lucky, it'll just need a bit of cleanup, maybe hone the cylinder walls, do a valve job...

    1968 Brake Light Question

I had the car out to my son-in-law's place this afternoon. We got the tail light panel off and found that the ground wire on the back of the left tail light was loose and dirty. After cleaning up both ground wires, and tweaking one of the sockets on the left tail light, all is well. I have...

    1968 Catastrophe...for me

I guess my response to this is to try to spin it to a positive. In my case, the GT/CS was sold to me as "mint". I ended up redoing everything the PO had done and more. The end result, while expensive, has transformed the car into my ideal. Another good result is that I know that everything...

    1968 Catastrophe...for me

You can always look at this as an opportunity. Are you planning to rebuild the engine/transmission? A reseal of the engine will not be cheap, but maybe this would be the time to have the mechanic go over it all while replacing the gaskets. Even if it only need a freshening, better to pay for...

    1968 Quieter Exhaust System

I have the Walker Dyno-Max Turbos on mine also. I had my system built at a local exhaust shop, and also had them put a Walker H-pipe on. Love the sound of it and it only gets loud when you tromp the loud pedal. Around town it is a nice throaty sound. Even cruising on the highway it's not too...

    1968 Screw Loose...

Just did some more online searching. Loctite has two other 'blue' variations. One is 248 Stick Blue Thread locker and the other is 243 Blue Thread locker. The stick variety sounds like it might be more easily applied to the tail light screw. Thoughts?

    1968 Screw Loose...

No, not me...the car. The PO had used an incorrect screw on one of the tail light bezels. I have a correct one in there now, but it is loose, and tends to back out. I have used some of that thin white plastic that is for the threads on air tools, but it only sort of works. Is there something...

    1968 Brake Light Question

It appears that the problem is a ground issue in the left tail light. Figures it would show up just after I installed my new rear bumper. :icon_ecst I was hoping to not have to open up the tail light panel, but it must be. Luckily, my son-in-law is going to come over and help me with it. I...
