    1968 Idiot light

VR definitely fried!! Root cause appears to be a mix-up when the harness was restored. The oil pressure idiot light and the alternator idiot light power sources were switched at the receptacles. Lee

    1968 Idiot light

Mosesatm, Yes, the VR powers all of the "analog" gauges as well. All I had tested is the fuel gauge and temp gauge at max by grounding the lead at the sender. This is a simply voltage divider circuit and if you ground to down leg, it will read max regardless of the VR output. It is all the...

    1968 Idiot light

Bad regulator... The power source for the oil light is the regulator located on the cluster. The alternator light goes to 12v. I checked the temp and fuel gauge by grounding them, but that will send the gauge to max regardless of the voltage regulator output. The VR output is 0 volts. Not good...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted an update! The last picture shows one of the bullet holes I left in the inside 1/4. This is the only Brittany Blue S code 4 speed car built! thx lee

    1968 Idiot light

Yes, S-code 4 speed with 8k tach, sorry I left that out. Bulb is good. It worked when swapped with the alternator idiot light and the light that was working in the alt slot, no longer worked in the oil light receptacle. No voltage at bulb receptacle (yes, with switch on) so must be an open...

    1968 Idiot light

Bonnie and Clyde is getting close. Haven't fired the rebuilt 390 yet, but I am happy to report I was able to apply DC power to all electrical circuits and no smoke was let out of anything! All lights, foglamps, markers, signals, etc work, except for the oil pressure idiot light.... Ground the...

    . Who's going to Vegas?

We have about 15 cars from Boise heading down on Wednesday. Bonnie and Clyde (my Brittany Blue 4 speed S code GT/CS) is months out, so I will be trailering our 1970 grabber blue boss 302. I will be checking out GT/CS & HCS cars for clues on how to finish out B&C. Lee Nevill Boise, Idaho

1968 Fuel tank to gauge wire question

Progress on Bonnie and Clyde has been slow, but I am making progress! I fixed and re-taped the bullet damage to the original tail light harness, but was surprised to NOT find the fuel guage wire as part of this harness. A little research leads me to believe the original fuel wire came down the...

1968 Grille rivets and peening tool to loan

I'd do it for cost + a case of longnecks  if you have the brackets! It's really not hard or even time consuming, but finding the brackets is a challenge since Delta Bay quit reproducing them. I was lucky to be able to score a set of the Delta Bay repro's from X-code. Lee

1968 Grille rivets and peening tool to loan

I think I mastered the grille rivets and now have a nice new reproduction GT/CS grille ready to install! I ended up getting the hand peening tool from Graingers and went with the 3/16 long rivets. Both the rivets and tool came from Hanson rivets and were resold by Graingers. I'll be happy to...

    1968 Grill Rivets

I was hoping to avoid paying $250+ for a tool that won't get used much and be able to come up with a technique others could use as well. I'd like to be able to send my left over rivets and a hand tool to others on the board so they too can avoid the $25 per rivet tool purchase!! Graingers makes...

    1968 Grill Rivets

All these photos help, especially the ones that show the crimp. I've ordered some new rivets from Graingers and will post new photos after my next attempt. Lee

    1968 Grill Rivets

I found some tubular rivets and a peening tool at Tandy leather. I had to cut the rivet down a bit.Take a look and give me your opinions. Should the heads be more "round" or "domed"? What should the backside crimp look like? Is it a rosette like this or just a bulge? Thanks and Merry...

    1968 Roof rail moldings

I ordered a set from Fastbackstack in Kent, Washington. I meet Lee at the Portland swap meet a few years ago and have had good luck getting non-reproduced parts from him in the past. Price is a bit high, but I was willing to pay it so it must not have been too high... One more check off the...

1968 Fog light brackets - again

Bonnie and Clyde has been in the paint and body shop for a couple months now and I've been busy restoring all the other 1,000,001 pieces and parts that make a car so I haven't posted in a while... Painted the underside of the big pieces last week and the rest of the car should be done soon. I'll...

. International Mustang Meet - Bozeman

Anyone from the board going to be at show in Bozeman this week-end? Sara and I will be there with our blue and gold 1966 GT350H. I've attended several IMM's in the past and have always had a great time. The organizer is telling me he has 15 1st gen shelby's, 12 Boss 302's and 12 Boss 429's...

    1968 Engine emblem on fender

The fenders I'm using for Bonnie and Clyde had both the "Mustang" script and the engine size emblem holes welded up. I've looked at a bunch of pictures and I see the "Mustang" script present on almost all cars, but the engine emblem missing. So my question is: for an S code GT/CS, should the...
