    1968 Backup light switch location

Rejy, Isn't your car an automatic transmission? If so, what you have looks to be a standard Transmission back up light switch. An automatic trans uses a neutral safety switch, which has the back up light circuit built in. It plugs into the square 4 pin pigtail on the firewall just above the...

    For Sale Copper GT/CS

Yes Arlie, It is. I hate to sell it, but with my left foot injury, it is difficult for me to drive a standard transmission car. I have driven it five times in the last three years. I would love to see it go to a good home.

    1968 Hood lock cut out

Arlie, that is surface rust. It has since been removed. Funny how the camera does not lie. It picks up every imperfection.

    1968 Hood lock cut out

Raw metal Arlie, The hoods were assembled in raw metal, painted, then the holes cut, so there would be no paint between panels and would be exposed when the holes cut. Of course there are always examples which make you wonder. Most original examples I have seen were rough cut, no paint inside...

    1968 Hood lock cut out

The holes were cut after paint and the edges were left jagged. No paint inside the hole on the underside of the outer skin. Same as the tail light cut outs.

1968 Attaching GT Trumpet tips to exhaust?

The original quad tips were clamped on. Scott Fuller Reproductions sell them. They are Concours correct clamps and you won't find better. They might seem hokey, but they are very effective. The nice thing about the clamps are as the tail pipes need replacing, the stainless quad tips can be...

1968 Lucas Square 8 mounting stud

The blueprints call out 3/8-20 (BFT) thread pitch, I could not find BFT anywhere. What does BFT stand for? (British Fine Thread)? I found some 3/8-20 Taps on Ebay which I purchased and came from GB. They are 60 degree thread pitch angle, not 55 degrees which is Whitworth. The 60 degree pitch...

1968 Tail Lamp Bezel/Lens Screw Finish

+1, black oxide finish on the lenses, and chrome on the bezel. I'm not sure you can get the black oxide screws, since they are hidden by the bezel, if chrome is what you have, use them. JMHO.

    1968 bolt colour?

Stephen, That is correct. The four bolts on the firewall end are zinc-diechromate (goldish hue) with phosphate and oil finish on the nuts. The shock tower nuts holding the export brace to the shocktower are nickle cadmium. The shock bolts which hold the top of the shock to the shock tower are...

    1968 bolt colour?

I assume you are talking about the three bolts on either side of the shock towers which hold the coil spring covers in place, if so, they are nickle cadmium, same as the fender bolts.
