Oil Pump Pickup/Pan clearance issue Technical Assistance

Steve, Good info on the Thorley Tri-Y's. To answer your question, For the time being, I'm going with the stock exhaust manifolds. (I know I should do just put the headers on now, but it's a funding issue. And I'm anxious to get the CS back on the road soon.) It was 80 degrees here today and...

Oil Pump Pickup/Pan clearance issue Technical Assistance

Thanks Steve. I appreciate your input...as always. Was looking at the Miloden line of products while over at Mustangs Plus today. Here's a pic. The actual color of the painted block didn't come across real well in this pic. It is much darker. -Jeff

Oil Pump Pickup/Pan clearance issue Technical Assistance

Hi All, I'm in the process of assembling my new long block 347. One issue that is concerning me in this assembly process- The oil pan "slightly" touches the oil pump pickup assembly when dry fitting the pan (with the oil pan gasket in place). I can hear it touching when I set the pan in...

    Marchal Bracket Rivets

Thanks Mike. Very cool. I'll definitely take you up on your offer. Maybe we can get together on this in the next couple of months (after I have the pieces in hand). Does Fat Tire Ale work for you ;-) Will be in touch via PM. Thanks again, Jeff

    Marchal Bracket Rivets

Thanks Mike. I know eventually, after I gather all the parts, I'll need to think about how to assemble the grille. Setting the rivets will probably be the trickiest parts. I also noticed that on the Delta Bay Mustang Marchal brackets there is not a LH and RH die stamp on the back side of...

    Marchal Bracket Rivets

Marchal Bracket Rivets? For Russ Furstnow Hi Russ, I'm looking at fabricating a new CS grille from a NOS '67 grille and Marchal brackets from Delta Bay Mustang. Do you still have rivets available? I've found them online, but don't really need 1000 ;-) Thanks, Jeff

    Engine Repair Question

Arlie, I like your plan. FYI- I just ordered a complete long block 347 roller cam with Edelbrock heads from Coast High Performance out of Torrance, CA for about $5K. I previously went to my local speed shop and started spec'ing out an engine with the guy and next thing I knew we we up to...

    Most Elusive Mustang Part?

Hey all. In the spirit of the elusive CS tailight pig tail grommet, I'd like to hear what you all have otherwise been unable to find for a replacement part (Doesn't have to be CS specific). For myself, it is the aqua door crank knob. I've been searching off and on for the last three years...

    Rarest CS Specific Part?

Arlie, Are you talking about the weather stripping? Or foam tape between metal framing and fiberglass? -Jeff

    Rarest CS Specific Part?

Very funny Paul!!! Arlie, I think you're right. Since a good part of the weight is out at the furthest point from the hinge, it would require a stronger spring. Anyone know if the spoiler is filled? Or hollow? (may be a silly quesion since I've not ever looked real close at it). -Jeff

    Rarest CS Specific Part?

Paul, Is the trunk spring stronger or lighter? It just occurred to me that there must be a weight difference to the CS trunk lid vs stock. Is the fiberglass trunk heavier or lighter than the stock steel one? I'm guessing it's heavier because of the duck tail? -Jeff

A '68 Calendar to see when your CS was built..

Hmmm, mine was built on April 2nd, a Tuesday. I'm hoping it wasn't the three-day Spring holiday weekend. Otherwise it might as well be a Monday car. Actually, a three day weekend Tuesday car IS worse than a Monday car in my book, dang!!! ;-)

    Rarest CS Specific Part?

Paul, That's odd that it's not listed on any detail drawings. I wonder if the tail light pigtail grommet was included in something like the Marchal light kit...half-kidding here, but who knows? -Jeff

Your GT/CS: Primary Driver? Show Car?

Paul, Mine's a #2 (...feel like I'm ordering lunch at a Chinese restaurant!!!) And, I hate to admit it, but it has been mostly a "grocery getter". The commute to work in it would be far too nerve wracking on a daily basis. Less than 2000 miles per year. Odometer showed 98,000 when I bought...
