    1968 289 or 302 block

Always amazed of the knowledge you find here! I have had some thoughts about an upgrade to a 4v carb and intake for my c code. Haven't decided for sure yet as it is a just newly renovated matching numbers original engine. (Apart from a dual exhaust added a few years ago) and i kind of like the...

    1968 reasons why you own a 1968 GT/CS

My friend had one back in high school and i fell in love with it riding shot gun to school every day. I tried to borrow 2000 dollars from my dad to buy one for myself, but he said if I wanted money I should get a job, so I did and by the time I got the 2000 dollars a car was 3000 dollars when I...

    1968 289 or 302 block

I already know the engine is matching numbers, the VIN is not the problem the right VIN is there both on the engine and the door. The question was another: I read Ford ran out of 289 blocks for the Ccode production and used 302 blocks instead. Is that correct? And if so how do I know my block...

    1968 289 or 302 block

This question has probably been posted many times, I've read som but are not clear, so forgive a newbie: how can I tell for sure if I have a 289 block or a 302 block in my car. The engine is matching number c-code. Car produced last week of GT/CS production. And then for the follow up: if 302...

    1968 A little guidence please

I wouldnt switch to discs either. I have a c-code with drum breaks. After the initial shock at the test drive where it felt I had to push the plate through the floor to get it to stop I am very happy with it. When you get used to it I think it will feel safe enough.

    1968 Info on engine stickers?

Are you getting picky?!? Red dipstick handles, very visual and convenient when you want to find them fast  Actually they were red when I bought the car, never done anything with them. Are they be blue in original? The one by the solenoid is the battery sticker, I didnt have a reference...

    1968 Info on engine stickers?

The decals finally came and are now attached. When the D-43 sticker came it showed it had the same layout as in the picture of the 302. Still dont know why there are 2 layouts though. Thanks for the pointers. Attached is a picture of the final results.

    1968 Info on engine stickers?

D43. It's the same as I found. But if you look closely on Ruppstangs photo you see it's another layout. Makes me wonder.... Thanks Bill, seems the emissions sticker is the right one anyways. /Jesper

    1968 Info on engine stickers?

I was just about to order these from NPD and noticed that the service instruction sticker doesnt have the same layout as the one dalorzo shows or what ruppstang has in the eginebay. I don't find any other matching sticker on NPD homepage for 1968. Where exactly did you get the picture dalorzo...

Thank you! 1968 Need help with adjusting carburetor

I have what I believe is an Autolite carburetor on my c-code. It is hard to start the engine from cold and I usually need to try 5-7 times before it fires up. And then it usually dies a few times before it gets warm. I have also been told that the mixing is too lean and the engine needs more...
