    1968 4-speed console question

Found some light Aqua dye, will probably try that first.

    1968 4-speed console question

OK, no power tools! A fresh hacksaw blade with a half handle sounds good.... It's tempting to just get some aqua spray paint for the average black pad and leave this pad alone....it's in really excellent condition. Having to glue a couple pieces back on the aqua base up front so that's no great...

    1968 Oil Filter Gasket

The group I used to go with broke up also. Depending on when you want to go.....If in late july or aug I might like to go with....I'll probably be in AK commercial fishing sockeye till then.

    1968 4-speed console question

OK, the problem now is that the pad has a steel backing that the coping saw won't cut. I'm thinking about using an air powered thin cutoff wheel tool. I'm using a line I scribed on the bottom outside of the "boot' drop off. This will leave the raised foam portion of pad under the small...

    1968 4-speed console question

Well, the console base was easy enough to cut, turned out nicely, but the pad looks to be a bit more difficult in getting the edges correct on upper left side where pad is raised.... I guess it depends on how thick the "vinyl skin" is before getting to the foam. I may have to dig out foam from...

    1968 Oil Filter Gasket

I got away with it once. Took off the filter and checked to make sure gasket was still on it. There were Two gaskets on it ! Somehow it didn't blow out. Hey Steve, long time no hear. Gone floating lately?

    1968 4-speed console question

Thanks, It almost looks like the right color.... hard to tell and they are closed till next week. My black pad is in similar condition, so I'd rather get this one and not paint mine..... IF... it's the right color. Looks a little off, I think more blue than aqua? I wonder how they modify an...

    1968 4-speed console question

Good advice, In the past the main problem was getting the paint/vinyl dye color to match the rest of the pieces. Generally, I just had to count on painting Everything to get a good match. Lately it's been hard to even get the paint.... at least in certain colors. I will try the classifieds...

    1968 4-speed console question

Thanks, looks like I'll be buying a coping saw. I need to either buy some aqua paint or cut the pad on the aqua console I have also.... The pad the 4-sp plate has on it is black. It looks to me like I could possibly cut the aqua auto pad but wouldn't be quite the same on the edge ? Don't want to...

    1968 4-speed console question

I have a 68 4-speed console lower plate and pad I found years ago. I'd like to put it in my GTCS 390 4-sp but the console bases I have aren't cut for a 4-sp plate.... Do I just cut it to fit or.....?

    Wanted factory side scoops wanted

He found an oem decklid, rear light panel and pass quarter extension already. Paid what I thought was an exorbitant price but I have no experience buying csgt parts..... When I had his car before I remember I was just going to buy reproduction parts for it and still thought they were a little...

Thanks for that, my car may have reproduction front and rear valances, not sure. I know I replaced the front one.... I also put GT badges on the front fenders just because.... I also have a 67 air cleaner because I like the look of it better and had one here when I was putting the car back on...

    Wanted factory side scoops wanted

Thanks, Like I said, he's on a budget. The one on ebay is probably a little more work than he wants and the NOS......well, nough said. He managed to find the rest of the original parts for a do-able price and just wants to finish it off w original. I sold him the whole shell for not much more...

    Wanted factory side scoops wanted

The friend who purchased my gold CSGT project is looking for factory side scoops, he doesn't like the re-pops. Any help appreciated. He isn't made of money, so damaged or imperfect is OK also. He also needs the driver side rear quarter extension. He has the skills to fix......

    For Sale 1968 - GT/CS Meadowlark Yellow S Code 390 Auto

I hate to admit it but after a bit more research it seems the 390 GT cars may be selling for less than I had thought. Mine is a factory GT 4sp w 8k tach so who knows..... But I've had it since 1976 and it only has 78k miles on it now. I doubt I'd ever sell it anyway, so it doesn't really...

    1968 Stuck Lifter

Did you have a working oil pressure gauge? Just curious as to whether it showed normal pressure even with the plug out. I have a gauge with a flexible hose on it I use to check actual pressure if there is a question.... I just screw the sender out and screw the hose in. Your engine may still...

    For Sale 1968 - GT/CS Meadowlark Yellow S Code 390 Auto

That's ridiculous .... Maybe for a small block "J" code.... I have a 390 GT "S" code 4sp with zero rust and I am pretty sure it's at least a 50-60k car. I've never heard about this "triple GT" claim before but mine has it as well I guess since it also has the "GT equipment group" listed on my...
