Anybody have an idea how much a they'd spend on a 1966 Mustang GT High Country Special? He wants $40,000 and has receipts for over $50,000. I've seen a lot of GTs in the $15,000 to $20,000 range.

The sticker doesn't list the 4-speed, or was that part of the GT package in '66?

The door tag lists a 3 speed, and one of the older photos he sent me shows a 3 speed knob on ths stick shift. A newer photo taken today shows a 4 speed knob. I'll ask him, but I believe he probably switched the tranny out. Yeah, the photo spread does leave a lot to be desired. Maybe, I'll post his new photos that he sent today here.

This is such a rare car that trying to place a retail value on it is really tough. It's basically worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I wouldn't pay $40,000 for it but if I really wanted a restored yellow '66 HCS GT $30K would tempt me.
