The next amazing classic up for grabs in our Fairfield showroom is this gorgeous 1968 Ford Mustang California Special 2 Door Hardtop with Meadowlark Yellow exterior paint and a beautiful black vinyl interior. You’ll find a factory-correct 390 cubic inch V-8 engine under the hood that’s paired to a C-6 automatic transmission and this highly desirable pony car appears to be largely original throughout. It is also nicely equipped for modern highway driving and must be seen in person to fully appreciate since the photos don’t do it enough justice.

Highly Original Example w/ Factory-Correct Drivetrain
This 1968 Ford Mustang California Special Hardtop originally sold in Canada and it has been enjoyed by three different lifetime owners, the most recent of which took possession back in 2016. This classic is in beautiful condition throughout with beautiful body lines, above average exterior paint, and only minimal blemish to be found. The interior is also in above average condition with slight patina to the vinyl seating and a very clean overall appearance. This one will appeal to a wide variety of collectors due to its overall condition and originality.
Additionally, this 1968 Ford Mustang California Special 2 Door Hardtop appears nicely sorted under the hood and it delivers very nice performance from the factory 390 V-8 motor. Acceleration is sharp and the handling is exactly as expected for this classic car. Most collectors would consider this California Special a high end driver since it appears highly correct throughout and has received great care in recent years. It will be a tough decision whether to fully restore this classic or simply enjoy it as a weekend driver for local shows and events.

Tremendous Overall Condition & Ready to Enjoy
Overall, this 1968 Ford Mustang California Special 2 Door Hardtop is a very impressive muscle car that would make a great addition to any serious collection. These factory X-Code 390 examples are becoming harder to find in this condition, so come see this muscle car for yourself today before it’s back in a private collection. Nice looking car.
Would look nearly perfect without the tinted fog lights.
Would also perfer the Marti called out styled steel wheels, instead of the Magnum 500's.
Kind of like the antenna mounted in the rear quarter panel and striped hood.

Does look very nice. No good pics of the underside. Agree on the fog light and wheels comment. Easily fiixed if you want "original." Don't like the antenna just because it just isn't original. Not so easily fixed.

It used to be owned by a site member named MY68GT/CS (Brance). He sold it to Edward Bodah, also from this site.

Hi guys Ed here. Yea it's mine. Info is correct. I still have the correct steel rims in the 2016 photo. I imagine I could package them with the car but thought I'd sell them separately. If someone here from our site ends up liking the car I could offer the rims with car. What I've done. Front lowering springs. Still have the original ones somewhere with correct marking on them. New rear leafs. One side scoop is a repop. The original broke off the bolt mount. That's it. Other than that the car is EXACTLY the way Brance sold it to me. I don't think the fogs are tinted yellow. They are Lucas. I'm keeping the unicorn Lucas covers. My bro has a 289 cs and he gets those. The stripes are matted black. The CS book mentions stripes as a rare option. The resident pros can comment I'd appreciate it. Mostly all original nice representation of an X Code. Stripes are still on the drives shaft off the line. Also has ALL the metal stamp plates on the engine and tranny. Etc etc. I didn't wanna sell it. Circumstance calls for it. I will say I procured a new toy. It's time for a new caretaker. Any questions guys holla back.
Ed

Specialty sales informed me they will add undercarriage pics and add more info to the listing per my request. I paid for a handful of items to be repaired as part of it needing fixing to pass their safety inspection. Absolutely nothing major. Will help with the sale for sure. Last I looked no rust underneath. Never seen rain. No rust in the common places either...cheers. Ed
Yea it's a 500 lol...New toy!!!

Yes the black out hood stripes are not common. They do look good on your car. If they were original to the car the color code W would have been followed by a 5. W5 and should have listed in the Marti report options as Two Tone Paint.
Good luck on the sale.
