Hi,

I am looking to purchase a 68 GT/CS and I wonder if you guys can help me finding a good solid close to original 68 type #2 or #3 driver.

I will export the car out of the US as I am Dutch.

I came accross this HCS recently, not sure if car is still for sale as dealer does not respond to provide me with the VIN for confirmation and the Marti. Do you guys know this car as it is not in the registery? VIN= 8RO1 C168063

Many thanks,

JJ

Listed as a HCS in the latest registry. Owner of record is, or was, Donald Steele.

I would find someone local to the car to go inspect it before you make an offer. Depending on the engine and drive train and whether they are original to the car a price of $24999 can be a good deal or a ripoff. Also its not hard to get pictures of a "sick" car to make the car look good. There's a video of a guy in Australia that imported a Mustang from the U.S. and learned that the hard way. Take this advice for what its worth to you.

Another CS in Utah

Hi JJ,

Since you are looking at the HCS located in Utah here is another lead for a CS in Utah: http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/cto/3306040516.html

I don't know anything about the car but I have seen the ad up for a while. It is advertised as having a 390 w 4sp.

I live in the San Francisco area of California and if you need some one to inspect a car for you out here (small fee) let me know and perhaps an arrangement can be made. I am originally from Amsterdam but I have lived in California all my life.

I can also inspect cars futher away from my home for a small fee and travel expenses. I grew up in a family run autbody shop and have been involved in classic cars all my life (buy, sell, own, restore, flip etc.)

If you are unfamiliar with the U.S. one thing you should be aware of is that some cars come from "Salt" states and some do not. A "Salt" state is one that uses salt on the roadway to control ice and snow buildup in the winter. You are better off with a car that spent its life in a non-salt state.

Good luck in your hunt,

Douwe

Thanks guys. Preference for a car located near a coast in order to save some transporation costs. White color does nice on a mustang, but I have just sold my white 68 J-code fastback. I am looking for a change of color this time.
