This Mustang GT/CS is one of approximately 4,118 GT/California Specials made for California Ford Sales Districts. It was developed as a sales promotion for the California market and was advertised by the Ford dealers Association. Since over 20% of all Mustangs were sold in California. Based on a 1965 prototype Shelby coupe named "Little Red" the GT/CS package was set in motion by Lee Iaccoca from an idea presented to him by the LA Distict Sales Manager. Known as the "California Special" then, It was engineered by Shelby Automotive in late 1967. The GT/CS equipment package included Fiberglass body-side scoops, Fiberglass Quarter panel ext, Fiberglass decklid spoiler, rectangle fog lamps, functioning louvered hood with exposed hood locks, horizontal taillamps, pop-open gas cap, body-side and decklid tape stripe.

Car was for sale in Wichita KS back in 2017 C151500

I think that would be correct for All Mustang Sales.

For California Specials 71% were sold with DSO 71 or 72 per the Marti Production Figures.
