This 1968 Ford Mustang GT features the California Special appearance package and has been refreshed to a mostly original state. The car is powered by a 289 cubic inch V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is finished in Candy Apple Red with a black vinyl roof over black vinyl bucket seats, with woodgrain trim on the dash. A Marti Report is included in the sale, indicating that the car was built in San Jose and sold through Eagle Motors in BC, Canada, in June 1968. The report also shows that the car was equipped with a 3.00 conventional rear axle, power disc brakes, power steering, AM radio, deluxe seat belts, and California Special wheel covers. The car currently sits on General Altimax RT tires over 14-inch steel wheels. This California Special retains most of its original equipment, and although not a true numbers-matching car, it drives incredibly well and looks fantastic. This one is perfect for anyone looking for a nicely restored car without paying the price for a numbers-matching example.

A few items that I have noticed.
1. Car appears to have a normal 68 GT Grille Bracket and maybe a late 80's to early 90's Marchal light attached.
2. I see wood grain is a decal on interior parts.
3. Reflective GT/CS stripe.
3. Black ring around taillight bezel.

This car appears has moved to the Sold inventory now. You would be correct on the gas cap being car is a C-Code 289 non of those are GT Cars.
