Neil,

Regarding the bad rust on the quarters and the difference in the quarter depression on replacement panels.

I was able to cut out the scoop on my original quarters and weld this into the replacement quarter panel skin before replacing it. I then used undercoating on the back side of the scoop on the inside just like Ford did. Everything was butt-welded and ground flat before putting on a thin layer of glaze. The scoops then fit perfectly. A little bit more work but worth it for my 68 J code Brittany Blue HCS.
