Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions and input you provided. I called reputable local shop that specializes in mustangs and they said they have a used 289 with less than 10k miles on it. It was a recent rebuild and they had originally installed it in a customer car but took it back when the customer decided to put a racing engine. Anyways I got it at a reasonable price and therefore I am going to give it a try. It is bored at .30, not ideal, but I guess it should be ok as an occasional driver. If it fails I will look into other options.
