Dad came over for a visit while I was prepping the trunk for paint, told me to go get us a couple beers. I came back to this and now he won't get out and told me to grab him a chair.

Haha, I'll admit, it's been making the job a lot easier getting down to bare metal in the rusty areas. I'm going to use Por-15 which says it just needs a clean degreased surface so I'm not going to need to make it perfect before application.

Wire wheeled, vacuumed, degreased, rinsed, and dried. Ready for POR-15 next weekend and a new gas tank shortly thereafter.

I actually thought about that and made sure to leave it as is further inside. Nobody at car shows will notice but I will be able to point it out and they'll wonder how they missed it.

New tank installed and idling nice and smooth. AND the fuel gauge is working!!
