Hi folks, a local gentleman is giving away what he says are four 14" wheels from his 1967 S Code. I have non original Cragar wheels on my C Code currently, would these 1967 wheels be period correct (photo)?

I'm happy to report that I'm now the proud owner of four 68/69 styled wheels with trim rings. Is restoring them something that would be best left to a professional or should I give it a shot at home?

What do you mean by restoring them? They are chrome, I’m not sure there’s much you can do except clean them.

Ah, yeah that's what I had in mind. I'm hoping the bits of oxidation can be polished out.

I always start with the least aggressive methods and move up. Start by simply taking off the trim rings and give the wheels a thorough washing. Go from there. The red paint on the caps (if you plan to use them) can be fixed up using the right shade of red nail polish. Have fun and nice catch!

Thank you! I'll give that a shot.

Do you know what tires you’re using? The choices are few. Radial T/A?

I think I misunderstood. These specs are what i see on the sidewall of the tires currently on the car. When I switch the new wheels in I'll need new tires.

I hadn't really given much thought to the new tires. I've always been happy with BF Goodrich. My plan was to look around at tires other folks with styled wheels are using and just pick one. Any suggestions?

Same here. The premium for BF Goodrich tires is worth every penny.
