Aftermarket AC project questions

Hi all,

I am revisiting the idea of installing aftermarket air conditioning in the '68 CS.

Has anyone done this themselves? Anything unusual in the installation that I would need to be aware of? The only part of this project that I likely wouldn't tackle is the R-134a charging part.

Also, any suggestions (I know I asked this question a year or so ago) on AC system brands they prefer...and ones to avoid?

Thanks, Jeff

Classic Air in Tampa, FL has a good reputation. Check out their models.
Its a do-able project. They sell a kit with all the where-with-all, and then you'd just have to have the system charged with R-134. An A/C shop installation would cost many $$ labor, and you could save that expense.

Bill just installed an aftermarket system in his car but I don't remember the brand. Hopefully he will chime in soon, or you may want to PM him.
