Does anyone in this forum own a Special Paint ordered GT/CS?
For those of you not familiarized with this option, special paint ordered Mustangs had the color section on door data plate blank and the DSO had a 4 digit number
I had a 1965 Mustang GT coupe that came from factory in Diamond Blue which was a 1964 T-Bird color. The original owner of this Mustang had a 1964 T Bird in Diamond Blue and ordered his new 1965 Mustang the same color. I was wondering if any CS were ordered in any special paint?

My GT/CS does not have a special order paint, but what makes it weird is it was a "RETAIL" sale and the buyer ordered it with "D" acapulco Blue, and "2D" Dark Red interior. Yeah, I know, ugly color combo ???. It is 1 of 10 , 1968 Mustangs (317,404 cars) built with this color combo, and the only GT/CS (verified by Kevin Marti)

I guess this is one of the occasions where rare, 1 of 1, doesn't necessarily mean desirable or more valuable. I do like the Acapulco Blue very much though.

Mike,

I was told my HCS has a 1 of 1 interior paint combination of Saddle/Meadowlark Yellow. This was told by the previous owner, but I have no documentation on it. Marti report has total for coupes of that year at 1,109 with that combination...but no number for the HCS. I posted a blog about my Saddle interior on the this website but only Rhonda answered back about her interior.
