1968 Cutting Console for A/C

All,

I have seen the various pics of consoles which came from the factory with A/C and those which did not.

I replaced my diverter with a good original one from a car with a/c and console.

I decided to cut a little bit at a time until it fit. I didn't want to amputate the ends of the console base "straight down" as it looks like the factory did.

These are the final pics after cutting 4 times, a little bit at a time until it fit. Wouldn't be considered original if being judged I assume but I think it looks better.
