3500+ miles down.....about 450 to go. Visited Steve Cracknell's place and saw how my mustang "should" be!! Wow, what a car he has!! Tx Steve for your time and generosity.

Was thinking of doing a marathon drive (13hrs) to get home but a wall of rain had other ideas.

Doug leaks oil out and leaks water IN...I drove about 30 miles with a towel over my hands on steering wheel as it dripped it from above windshield. Cowels appear good. (Phew) siliconed apparent offender but will have to test with garden hose at home--- unless it rains tomorrow as well.

I'm now tucked in for the night with Doug under cover of hotel entrance! (Sweet talked girl at front desk to let me leave it there)

Will be home tomorrow. Thanks for tolerating my ongoing posts regarding the gt/cs' adventures.

When you get home, get new front window gasket and have windshield reset. Silicone dries into a hard form and will leak again. Proper windshield sealant remains pliable over its life.

@Rob,
Is all that is needed is a gasket? Any other parts or special techniques? Would a windshield replacement outfit have requisite knowledge to do job?

the trim around the windshield is fragile and some shops dent the doodee out of it.

3M makes a sealant for just this application. Most shops use it or an equal. Sometimes it is good to source some of the clips that hold the trim on. If some are in bad shape you have them ready to go. Most Mustang suppliers have them.
