My experience with installing the Drip Rail Moldings is over the years of repaints, and/or when a new paint job is completed, if the drip rail has an excess of paint build up, the Stainless molding has a hard time gripping the rail, if at all. When you have the car repainted, advise the painter to avoid excessive paint build up on the rails. The drip rails always seem to get overlooked on the back side where the moldings grip when stripping paint. Just a heads up.
On the same note, when removing the moldings, a bottle opener with the flat part taped over to avoid scratching, works great. The small finger grips the inside lip and carefully pop it off just as you would a bottle top, working slowly down the molding as not to dent or bend the molding.
