This 1968 Ford Mustang was originally delivered to Smith-Gandy Ford in Seattle, Washington, and is one of 4,118 examples ordered with the California Special equipment package for the model year. Finished in blue over a light blue and dark blue vinyl interior, the car is powered by a 302ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. It was optioned with a heavy-duty suspension, power steering, and 14″ steel wheels with polished covers in addition to deluxe seat belts and an AM radio. Acquired by the selling dealer in October 2023, this Mustang coupe is now offered in Canada with a Deluxe Marti Report, manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, two sets of keys, and British Columbia registration.

The car was finished in Acapulco Blue (D) from the factory and features chrome bumpers as well as bright trim along the rocker panels and wheel arches. Additional exterior details consist of an aftermarket antenna, rectangular driving lights, hood vents with integrated turn-signal indicators, exposed hood locks, and an integrated rear decklid spoiler. The chrome side mirror is pitted, and badges are missing from the fenders. Various paint flaws are shown up close in the gallery below.

Steel 14″ wheels wear different Mustang-branded covers front and rear, and 195/75 Arizonian A/S thin-whitewall tires are mounted all around. The car was optioned from the factory with a heavy-duty suspension that has been fitted with Napa Gas Deluxe HD rear shocks. Braking is handled by drums at each corner, and the power steering lines are wrapped in duct tape near the steering rack.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in light blue and dark blue vinyl, and deluxe seat belts were optioned from the factory. Other interior appointments include a Philco push-button AM radio, a heater/defroster, wing windows, and blue carpeting protected by Mustang-branded rubber floor mats. The headliner is sagging, the driver’s door panel is scratched, and the upholstery on the driver’s seat and the upper portion of the left rear seat is torn.

The leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, engine temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 79k miles, approximately 25 of which have been added by the selling dealer.

The J-code 302ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor as well as valve covers with “Powered by Ford” lettering. Blue paint is missing from various engine components.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed C4 automatic transmission and a 3.00:1 conventional rear axle. The muffler and rear section of the exhaust have been replaced.

The Deluxe Marti report lists factory colors and equipment along with production statistics and a build date of April 4, 1968. Manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, and two sets of keys are included in the sale.
