GT Exhaust Extensions

I'm preparing to install the pair of GT exhaust extensions, utilizing the GT valance. My question is: How far should the tips protrude beyond the valance? Could someone measure their car & let me know? (And of course, they are the correct, MCA approved rolled edge!!)

Ford specs are as follows..... extend the tip 1.5" from the top edge of the tip to the lip of the valance cut out.
