1968 Head Casting Number

What does this casting number mean?

Going to WAG that it is a mold number for traceability.

Depending on what the casting number of the head is, it might designate that it's a GT-40 head.

That was my first thought, but according to the photographer they are 1968 heads. My heads have 21 cast into them.

I’ve since learned that GT40 heads have three or four vertical lines on the front of the heads.

Mold number works for me!
