1968 Interior paint confusion

Need some information for my body shop. 1968 GT/CS with a color change.:lipsseal:

Acapulco Blue exterior, black interior.

Dash and steering column gets painted charcoal, correct?

What about the rest of the interior? Doors, rear panels, etc? Are they supposed to be black or body color?

The restoration guide section, in the book is confusing. Trying not to make any costly mistakes.

All metal surfaces were the charcoal black. When I have time I will get you a picture of one of our cars. Marty

When the doors are closed you should not see any blue inside the car.

The exception to the charcoal, I believe, is the 2 piece lower windshield trim. Semi-gloss black... almost flat, but not quite...

And if its a late car with no pillar pads the few I've seen do not appear to be the charcoal there either. I had a link once-upon-a-time to a good chart that showed the interior parts in a list as to what was painted what, but its gone bad and I don't seem to have kept a screen shot...

Thanks guys, my GT/CS is very early, Feb 5, 1968 early.

Charcoal on doors, rear panels, and dash/steering column. Glossier on the doors than the dash?

Here are a few pictures of my son's 68 with the 2A black interior. We went for a fall cruse to the apple orchards today it was a perfect fall day in Nebraska. Marty

Thanks Marty.

Early car? it has the knee pad.

1969 bucket seats? I will most likely be using 1969 buckets (with 1968 covers) with adjustable headrests on my car.

It is not too early 22B. My son Travis is 6-4 1/2 so we added the 69 backs with headrest to make it more comfortable for him. Not much gets by you Scott! It is not a concours car at all. Marty
