Picking up the local (Grass Valley) paper today, noted the Experimental Aircraft Association #1175 is sponsoring a a fly in, pancake breakfast, aircraft and homebuilt aircraft displays and classic auto displays for Sat. July 8 at Nevada County Airport.

The article shows pictures of some of the kit built performance planes and a red '68 Mustang California Special. Hmmm. "Quelle Coincidence"

By any chance Tim, you have anything to do with this? (Or Sharon, Mike or Marie)?

The featured car just seemed like too much of a coincidence given Tim's knowldege of airplanes !!!

And how come an upsurge of "airplane" posts here all of a sudden??

Or am I off base here? Anyone in Nev. Co. or elsewhere got a clue???!!!:icon_ecst :icon_ecst :icon_ecst

I'd LOVE to see an airshow (Haven't seen the Reno Air Races yet)
near here. It's always a treat to see low flying CDF (Forestry Fire fighting) retired bombers flying low over Banner Mountain...

Jim,

I don't have anything to do with this one.. I just talked to Tim about this one and He says that He really doesn't doesn't have anything to do with this one also.. But, He is bringing the specials.. But, it's really nothing like last year.. Of course, Tim didn't have all of those specials.. Yeah, I always see the CDF aircraft flying low over my parents house when I'm up there.. I think probably because they spotted the BBQ smoke....

Jim, I have been the chairman of the Nevada County AirFest for the past 7 years. This year - we're not doing the big warbird show (volunteers need a break) but the local EAA chapter is doing their pancake breakfast fly-in where they'll show off their experimental planes. I designed the ad you saw (hence GT/CS) and am putting my blue one in tomorrow's parade to promote. All of the other Mustangs will be displayed at the airport for the event next Saturday.
