Pair of original used Marchal fog lights with NOS 656 IODE lenses installed. Not reproduction, made in France. $399 shipped. Cheaper than reproductions (no tax) and real vintage Marchal.
656 IODE are not the exactly correct lenses for California Specials. However, reproduction Marchal lights are this 656 IODE model lens design.
IODE was what Halogen technology was originally called in Europe. Iodine gas is used in halogen bulbs, thus ‘Iode’. These use H1 base halogen bulbs, which were the first halogen bulbs designed by Marchal in 1963.
Used chrome housings are original 656 & have minor flaws only noticeable on very close inspection. The lenses were missing so I installed NOS genuine Marchal 656 IODE lens/reflector units made in 1969. They will shine brighter than reproductions since the reflectors are Marchal's original vacuum-aluminization process.
The H1 bulbs also make them brighter than the correct CS lights which used less powerful ba21s globe bulbs of non-halogen incandescent technology.

Unlike the reproductions, I have fitted these with Ford wiring & included tube spacers of the correct size for California Specials.
The chrome bezels and housings are original. Dipped chrome plating over brass over French steel. The bezels around the glass are very good with only minuscule imperfections. One housing on the back has a small patch of tiny dents/blemishes that will not be visible when installed.
They are totally complete & ready for immediate installation on your grille. New German H1 bulbs included.
