I was almost ready to buy a coupe, but using the CS saves me thousands in tail area parts, shipping and bodywork to fit... and is what was used by Shelby for the original EXP.
Done two near concours restos and while I appreciate them and originality was looking for a slight deviation, am still debating "molesting" the car, and am not 100% conviced I will... but closer to 80/20 as I don't see them as really "rare", but somewhat "special" (pun intended!).[/QUOTE]
I hate to see a original car modified but as others have said here it is your car and you should do what you like with it. Here is a thought. I have a 68 C code coupe that has most of the GT-CS stuff on it. The story is the PO wrecked his GT-CS and was going to build this car into a 428 clone. The shock towers are all ready renforced. It is a rust free rolling shell with no drive train. Originaly it was white with a red interior. We were thinking of building a car like you are thinking of building. I have more projects than time. I do not have a lot of invested in this car. If this intrests you I can post some pictures. Marty
