Radiator mounting

Do any of you have an extra set of upper and lower radiator mounts lying around?

Judging by the responses (0), I guess no one has the radiator brackets you need. I have seen them advertised in several parts catalogs, though. Sorry. If I had them, I'd give them to you.

Are you refering to the two flat peices that are placed over the edges of the radiator on the left and right?

No, not the flat pieces left and right. It would be the support pieces on the bottom and the hold down on top.
There were two different size radiators used. 6 cyl and 289/302 without air received a smaller width radiator that bolted to the radiator support and had the flat pieces on the side you mentioned. The A/C equipped and big block cars had a wider radiator that used supports and hold down brackets.
My car came with a 289 but I'm going back in with a 351 so wanted the additional cooling of the larger radiator.

Here is a picture of the top bracket. It just wraps over the top of the radiator.

If no luck, they would not be difficult to fabricate. They are 2 'U' channels with a rubber cushion to protect the radiator lower tank, bolted to the frame.

Did you pay $48 as the grand total, or $96?

I've seen these brackets at Mustang Parts places typically go for $35 + $35 + $12 + $12 = $94 approx (upper, lower and insulator pads) ...

This sounds like the plan. I'll measure the bottom of the radiator and keep my eyes open for a piece of channel. If some real ones pop up in the meantime....

I may still have to purchase the top pads. I'll have to wait until I get the bracket to find out. What do the pads look like? I have some heavy 1/4" thick pieces of rubber I can cut to fit.

Since I am installing an aluminum radiator, I am more concerned with functionality rather than the 100% stock look.

After shipping it was $56 and some change.

The top mount came in and I'm happy to say the pads were in excellent condition.
I still have to work out the bottom pads. Does anyone have a photo in their archives of the lower mounts installed. I looked today and it appears I am going to have to drill some mounting holes.

Bill,

I just went through replacing my 20" radiator (non-clamp-in) with the 24" clamp-in type. You should not need to drill. There are already holes for the lower mounts. I tapped the existing holes (on the angled frame pieces) to ease the bolt installation on each side. I don't think it's an absolute requirement to tap the holes.
