It has come time for me to sell my CS/GT. The following is the text and some of the pictures I plan to place in Hemmings later this week. I am going to ask $55,000. I welcome comments on the write-up and asking price. And thanks again for your help in answering my questions while I have brought this car to a higher level then when I purchased it in 2018.
1968 Mustang California Special GTCS in Sunlit Gold with hood black-out and black vinyl top. Chrome Style Steel wheels with GT hub caps and GT Gas cap. Early 2/8/1968 build date with inset rear markers and Marchal fog lights. J code (302) with mild cam, C4 Auto with shift kit, 3:00 open differential, (recently rebuilt by Quick Performance). New “Dead Nuts On” brand rebuilt alternator, Edlebrock 1403 carb on top of a Cobra intake. HIPO (K-code) exhaust manifolds. Stock PS, PDB, factory air (Sanden compressor).
Deluxe black interior with upper and lower consoles. AM/FM stereo from 1970 Mustang with correct door speakers behind the lower door grills and rear shelf speakers. Correct tach instrument panel and correct rear window defogger. Under-carriage is detailed with red oxide primer.
Other than noted above, the car is stock and was rotisserie restored. Paint, chrome, stainless is a 9.8 out of 10. Glass is quite good except the rear windscreen has a dime sized discoloration on it while the windshield is new. Many new parts within my seven-year ownership. It runs strong and everything works. Temp runs at 195-200* in hottest weather. Original mileage unknown.
Car will come with spare parts including original car, A/C compressor with brackets and idler and a tank with some good R-12 in it. Will include the Deluxe Marti Report and Paul Newitt’s GT/CS book #1071/2000 and signed by the author.
Clean Illinois title. Located in Zip 60014. Asking $55,000. Please call or text (847)345-3167 for additional info.
