I thought my car was mostly original and the trunk weatherstrip was attached to the body and not the lid. The weatherstrip was very worn and had some type of lip along the edge. Is this correct or should it be attached to the lid? Thanks

Here's are a couple photos. Don't forget the foam tape under the spoiler.

Still have a trunk lid question. Have had a tough time finding info on how things were originally done with these. My original lid was attached with studs not bolts when I got it. I put on new nuts and washers since the others were rusty. Should this have had bolts and not studs originally? If yes, I can't figure out why someone would have done this. Thanks

I cannot say why someone used studs, but bolts are correct. Maybe it was same guy that put the weather strip on the body.

Thanks, very helpful. Thats kind if what I eventually thought. I'll figure out how to make things right as I chip away at it.
