Two questions only

question 1- does anyone know whats the correct colour for the power steering pump. one book says black, another says teal ford blue?

question-2 having bought the stripe kit from branda for the GT/CS .I need some measurements for the shop thats going to install them.they dont have a clue except for the poster i brought them.

QUESTION -3 FOOLED YOU. i found a small chunk of my exhaust manifold missing and have to order new ones. they list two types. one -289 hp k code and one 289 stock. will they both fit my engine or do i have to go with the cheap model. (stock) I dont want headers on the car. thanks terry......

Hi:
1- check the list, there is the official concourse engine painting
2- I don't have the measurement of the stripes, but I'm sure someone does
3-you can use any of the stock manifolds or K code(as long as they come for windsor heads and some additional tricks), even a 390 for a better sound. But if you ain't intrested in improving sound, you should get the stock ones, K code cost more and in your case you won't use them as they should be used.. a better run run.... :grin: Hope that helps

Depends on who made the pump. I've written a couple of articles mentioning this so here it goes

PS pump color
TRW = Black (tag , bottom line 2nd didget W)
Ford Thompson = Blue (tag center line F in line)

This information was found in the Techincal Service Bulletins and was an instruction to the service managers as to how to identify the makers of particular pumps


"Question 3" if you add the k code manifolds you will have to change your H pipe also. There can be clearance issues if you have a manual trans

San Jose PS pump is teal.

Yep. The pump is not Ford Blue like our engines, it is more of a teal color. I used to have a can but it was used up and went into the trash.

The stripe instructions are from Paul N's book and worked very well for me. Keep in mind that when installing the stripes, the car should be in a location that the installer can back away from the car for alignment. There have been several posts that talk about installing stripes. I have posted one in the restoration section of the forum.
