1968 VIMA / Canadian Tire Show & Shine in Victoria

Should have posted these photos earlier, but we've just been WAY too busy lately.
Recently our local Mustang club (VIMA / Vancouver Island Mustang Association) hosted it's annual Show & Shine at the Admirals Road Canadian Tire Store up here in Victoria, BC. The folks at Canadian Tire have been awesome and supply us with a large portion of their parking lot to host one of our annual events plus they supply a huge table full of give-aways for the entrants and trophies and draw prizes as well. The store owner Kim and their auto shop manager Scott have been huge supporters of this event for several years now.
As usual a good time was had by all ...

(... and as you'll notice there ALWAYS has to be at least ONE cup of Tim Horton's Canadian coffee strategically placed somewhere at these events! It's a tradition up here don't you know ...)

Steve (Stangfan) and I both attended and parked the "Twins" together which is always good for a few "second takes" as people walk by!
There was a good smattering of Mustangs and Ford powered vehicles in attendance and it was a great day!

(The blue Canadian Naval Patrol jeep is the only surviving one known to exist. There was another, but it was on board another Canadian vessel that sank and the jeep went with it! It belongs to Scott the Canadian Tire shop manager who is ex Navy and he did the entire restoration on it.)

Is there a car ferry that goes from Victoria to the U.S? My son and I have decided to drive from Calgary to SanFran using PCH but are contemplating the initial trip starting point being Victoria......
