Hi ,

We had our local MOCWA annul show and Shine today and i spotted another CS (Black , with red interior - Lucas lights , C code)
he explained to me that he had Ghost striping , that during the day you could hardly see it - but at night it turned Gold and in pictures you could see it was gold.

can anyone tell me what / where these stripes come from , it really looked kinda subtle and cool.

are they original ???????

That's 3M reflective striping. It's usually about $20 US more than regular stripes.

I think it's very cool to have...it comes in most colors, too. The '68 CS didn't originally use reflective stripes--but replacements would be neat to have.

Your question makes me wonder...and a big "DUH!" came to mind (why Ford didn't do this to begin with)....

Why didn't Ford go with the black reflective stripes for the '07-'09 GT/CS? Especially on dark cars with the black stripes? That would have looked so cool--to have a black CS with black stripes that all of a sudden appear as gold reflective stripes when the light hits it the right way--or at night.

I had a neighbor that had a yellow '69 Shelby with reflective (stock) stripes in black. Every time they turned into the light, it flashed gold.

Paul.

That is what comes with the new black GT/CS's like mine. Look real close to the side strips on mine, this is what mine looked before I changed them to this. I hope this helps. This is what Paul was talking about...reflective white/silver by Bob White designed for the new generation GT/CS's

Actually my black satin stripes are difficult to notice unless you know they are there, and I find people looking at my car alongside me while out driving. I like the subtleness of this ghost stripe, BUT in the bright sunlight, it shines brightly and proudly.
