I thought a few of you might be interested in another web site I started recently; http://rustingmusclecars.com

I've always been a sucker for project cars. The worse shape they're in, the more I'm drawn to them! But since my wife (sensibly) reminds me that I have enough projects, I just watch for them on the net. I've been steadily collecting them so I thought I'd put a site together.

If you've got some pics of rusting muscle cars I'd love to put them on the site. Basically any classic or Muscle car, whether you've seen them in junk yards, backyards, fields, barns, etc. You can either email them directly to me or post here.

Thanks!

Interesting that you post this site, I was at lunch yesterday at a place I go quite frequently and across the street is a 1966 Ford pickup that has been there forever, I've seen it and commented on it multiple times however yesterday was the first time I have ever noticed it actually has trees growing through it. They have grown up between the cab and bed and don't appear (from a distance) to have damaged the cab or bed extensively as the tree comes out very thin and then spreads back into a full sized tree. I plan to get a picture or two next time I have a chance.

Very Cool site Jon!!

I know of a lot of rusting bodies in my area - have to get out with the camera one day and take a few shots!!

...I agree. There is something very appealing about derelict vehicles. As a kid - I used to love wandering through aircraft boneyards, railroad scrapyards and junkyards in general before the days of high fences. It was often alot more facinating than visiting museums...

I've seen some real good ones in junk yards over the years.

I think that I am going to bring a camera along with me just running errands. I see old stuff being used as daily drivers pretty often. In the last week I saw a 1965 Mustang fastback, 1966 Mustang coupe, 1967 Cougar XR7, 1969 cougar, 1972? Dart 4 door, 1960 Cadillac Sedan Deville, 1963 Falcon wagon, 1970 Olds convertible, 1969 Mustang Grande, bunch of old trucks. There is a lady in my neighborhood that has a Checker Marathon bubble top. She sure looks tiny driving that ugly old black thing.

Yes, I did. I believe that it was listed on ebay recently. Rare car, lots of love and money to make it right though.

On our trip to Yakima, on Hwy 97 from Biggs (Columbia River), when you come into the south end of Toppenish, just before the golf course, there-- on the right side, there is this house with a pretty big front yard--with at least 300 Model A and Model T bodies and parts, etc...ALL OVER the yard--all rusting!!!

It was unbelievable!!!

Worth a look if anyone is out in that part of the country!

Paul.

Back when I was a kid I walked through there a couple of times but the guy that owned it didn't want to sell anything. Last time I was by there, it looked like it'd been thinned out, so I would guess it belongs to someone else in the family and maybe they're working down the inheritance.
