It looks like I've been driving for the last 4 years with the tailpipe against the fuel line!!!

I guess the pipe doesn't get hot enough to do any real damage but my exhaust system is too loud anyway (stop laughing, Rob and Steve!) so now might be a real good time to get a new one.

It also looks like I also found the source of the squeak under the rear seat.

Excellent point. I hadn't thought of that possibility!

Tailpipe rubbing a hole in the fuel line......that would be a good definition for "having a bad day"!!!!

I think it was in the movie gumball rally the vans fuel tank sprung a leak and the trail of fuel caught on fire. They were trying to out run the flames but it did not turn out so well for them. Arlie I am glad you found it. One benefit of being a concoure guy I spend a lot of time under the car cleaning and get a good look a things quite often. Marty

Yup! The ocean of power steering fluid wasn't pretty either after my power steering pressure line blew-metal part of the return hose was rubbing and crimped over the lower control arm-finally cracked and blew out on the driveway! Instant manual steering the old fashioned way! Ruined my day and weekend...shane

.

I AM laughing! I bought new mufflers for the Tiger and could only find one that would fit that wasn't a glass pack. I wanted to look kinda stock (what was I thinking) and there just isn't much room to put something in there. I welded them in, fired up the car-----and was instantly disappointed. You can hardly hear the exhaust and I swear the car isn't as fast as it used to be. Sometime this winter they're coming back out. Back to your situation, glad it didn't turn into something ugly.

Steve
