Anyone else getting incessant popups in the lower left of the screen on the site...??? Seems localized to this site.

Have tried popup blockers but it seems to ignore them... really, really annoying...

There should be no popup ads at all on this site. Can you maybe take a screen shot and post it or email it to me?

Find your browser "tools" and enable popup blocker.

Jon,
There have been pop-up ads on this site for a long time. A Kia ad popped up when I pulled up the site a few minutes ago. Or is that a different type of ad, not a pop-up?

I think we're talking about 2 different ad types.

There have always been banner ads on the site, but not popups. A popup actually opens a new browser window automatically to show the ad. Then you have to close or move it because it gets in the way of what you're reading. Very annoying, which is why I don't use them.

A banner ad is a graphic or text ad that's built into the site, like the one top center of this page. It's always there, but you can ignore it. It's not in your way, doesn't obstruct the actual content of the site and you don't have to close it separately.

Its specific to one laptop, can't ascertain the reason why one is allowing the popus (blocker is on, still come up, very odd) they are small "mini-windows" in the lower left.

As that laptop is going away soon, am just avoiding it and using the spare for accessing "hobby sites"...

Dalorzo,

Are you using Internet Explorer? If so trying using Chrome or Firefox; that might stop the issue. I would guess that the pop-ups are linked to some browser add-on that was installed with another program. You should be able to turn it off by hitting the "sprocket" at the top right of your internet explorer window and selecting "Manage add-ons."
