  • Marty,
I see the rally packs say 65-68 mustang. Have you as a judge seen many rally packs on 67-68 mustangs?
    Domiick
    Hi,
Yes, there is a flat spot on the top back of the block just above the top of the bell housing there you should find the VIN. There should be a J in the VIN.
Hope this helps. Is this car a GT? If so are the shock towers welded?
    Marty
Hi Marty, I have a quick question for you. You've worked on a lot of these cars. I am looking at a GT/CS that is supposedly a J code, 302. Is there coding I can look for on the engine to confirm it is the correct motor?
Tom the distributer that I have is a C8TF 12127F and is for a Manual transmission 289 2V. I have a distributer for a 6cil that may have the breaker plate you need but I am not sure. I have no Autolite 2100 carb. If you find one on EBay needing rebuilding I would pay $50-75.
    Marty
Marty tom Fletcher On the Distrib will that fit a 289 2bbl ? the one I have that the plate is bod is a motorcraft 12127 that is the numbers I found on Dist and you don't have a 2100 motorcraft carb?
Yes I can do PayPal. I can send you a picture but will need your email address. Yes the battery box bolts are the same finish as the fender bolts.
Yes I want them. PayPal? Also can you send me the measurements of how to mount the starter selonoid by the battery. Also are the bolts that connect the battery apron inside the firewall the silver color like the 6 fender bolts under the hood?
    Hi Dominick,
Thanks for the reminder. No Bob Gaines was not there. It was nice to finally meet you. I will get it on its way soon.
    Regards Marty

    Dominick
Was Bob Gaines in Beaumont that weekend?
Our car had the stripe originally. We had it put back on after the restoration. I have pictures but need your email adress agin. Marty
    Marty:
Just going over some old threads and seen one on accent striping curious did you add the stripe? If so do you have any pictures?
    Hi Dominick,

Air cleaner Service instructions decal on air cleaner side. 68- Autolite Replacement Parts decal on air cleaner side and Emissions Tune-up decal on drivers side valve cover.Filled out Battery test decal on passengerside inner fender near battery. Voltage regulator decal on lid and coil decal on coil.
The grill fog light pedistals and wide grill moldings are grey. stone gard is body color. Tire inflation decal gos in the center of bottem of glove box. Jacking instruction can be under the trunk lid or the drivers wheel house in th trunk.
Are you a Mustang Club of America member? Most of this is on there web site.
    Best of luck Marty
    Marty,
I have a few decal questions. Can you tell me what decals are to be in the engine compartment area? Mostly the air cleaner decals, the valve cover decal, I was lokking at the registry and some of the engines pictured have different decals in that area. "Front" for example on the air cleaner would be for a 1967? Sometimes I see a decal on the left valve cover, what would that be? Is there a decal on the back top of the air cleaner and which one goes on the left side? Also for the grill would the entire grill be the medium titanium poly along with the fog light pedastals and the stone guard? I have these items out right now and want to go ahead and make it right. I have been detailing under the hood amongst other things this winter. What if any tire inflation decals would go in the glove box and are jack instructions to be on the rear lid?You are the 3rd person I ask these questions to. Thanks, Dominick
    Marty
I got your letter with the template, thank-you very much. Do you have any pictures of the actual wires going through the door, i.e. location that you could email me?
I think it takes like a 3x6 speaker. If the car came with AM-FM radio or a AM-8track it would have had the speakers in the doors. Yes the wires go through the door and door post at the dimples. NPD sells a harness that has the wires for the speker with the lights. You might be able to push speaker wires through the conduit with the light wires.
send me your email and I can send some pictures. May need your name too. It might be better if you sent a Private Message Marty
Thanks Marty can you use any 4x6 low profile speaker? Is there any special place to drill the hole to run the wires i.e a little dimple or notch in the door? Would the original have a front speaker then these two in the doors? I have the harness for the lights it almost looks like this will work for the speakers as well?
    My address is
1217 Sun Harbour Green S.E. Calgary Alberta Canada T2X 3C5
The speaker is closest to the hing. If you need a template I could make you one. I will need your mailing address. Marty
