    . Triple "B's" Garage

Dudes, This may be a continue to the "photo your winter fun" thread before. The continuing saga in "big block bob's" (trible B's) garage. Keep in mind this was a condescending name given to me in the 1970's by a close friend who is still a very close friend!! If you can't laugh at yourself...

Val and I are turning a bit of a corner in our lives with 38 years of marriage and trying to simplify our life a bit. We sold our GNS (or whatever it is) for $35k and will focus our energy and funds on our custom 1967 Fastback. Some of the money went to buy a 2011 black Ford Ranger 4X4 with...

    1968 Car Show Judging

I posted this, this morning in response to some thoughts on stock cars, tasteful departures, and concourse stuff. I thought if might generate some thoughts from the site. I co-founded the Mustang club in my area and we went through all sorts of growing pains. I lifted it and gave it its own...

    . Diaper Please

Dudes, Recently I had the pleasure of working on a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500. Fresh out of a frame off restoration. It is so pretty it is scary. 289 auto car with a small cam and hipo exhaust manifolds and a 4 barrel. Running like doo doo. So rob gets the car and sends the owner off. It...

    1968 GT/CS Rear Quarter Script

All, Below is a link to an older thread where we discussed the GT/CS script and how the early original script might differ from the service replacements that came out later. http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9216&highlight=script I appears that "Batgirls" new S code GT/CS...

    1968 Automatic Shifter Upgrade

I got bored and decided to upgrade my stock Ford automatic shifter. The below will work for a C4, C6, or for an AOD conversion. I have a Shelby console and want a stock shifter rather than butchering it for a B&M shifter. I know I am not alone in wanting the stock look. I am preparing for...

    1968 Travelin' Man

I finally got to meet a close neighbor of mine. TraveledGTCS! He lives about an hour away. Bill Norman is his name and he has a J code GT/CS and was having some minor annoyance with his 4300 4 barrel carb. He saw a few posts on our site and was fooled into thinking I knew something about...

    1968 Welded Shock Towers

I felt that the below discussion from the Leaf Spring Engineering thread deserved it own thread. It appears that GT/CS and HCS cars with the J code engine and the additional GT option may have weld reinforced shock towers. This reinforcement to my knowledge was done on the line by hand and is...

    1968 Vacuum Test

Could a couple of you guys with a basically stock long block 289 or 302 do a vacuum test for me? No problem if you have a different carb, but want the test performed on a stock engine and camshaft mostly. I especially would like to test an engine with an automatic. Hot idle in gear from an...

    Cruising Memories

All, In the early 70's they put in a new road near Silverdale in my area that had a one mile "dead flat straightaway", wide shoulders, and no driveways or cross streets! Brand new pavement obviously! It was off a road called "Newberry Hill" and we called the new race track "Newberry Hill...

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

All, I was looking at the last Mustang Monthly issue and it had a 1968 Mustang convertible with a 390, 4 speed, and was a GT. The article commented that it had drum brakes and not power discs. Led the reader to believe that the GT option in 1968 had power discs as part of the option. My...

    1968 Electric Power Assist Steering

Dudes, I am going to install the new Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) on Val's Fastback after New Years. To me the 1967 and 1968 cars feels so much more sporty with the 4 turn lock to lock steering available with the PS. And the standard steering at 5 turns is not very easy at slow...
