    1968 HCS or GT/CS

The HCS emblems were shipped in the trunk and dealer installed. The 251 is part of the 4118. Scott

The car in question fits within known HCS VINs, known HCS production dates. Tim - There were 251 HCS cars. Scott

    1968 HCS or GT/CS

I thought that all DSO 51 cars would be HCSs. I suspect this car was born an HCS and was just restored incorrectly. Scott

    1968 HCS or GT/CS

Is this an HCS restored as a GT/CS? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Mustang-1968-Mustang-California-Special-GT-CS-Genuine-Original-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem20b1fb23b8QQitemZ140424979384QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks Scott

    Fuel Gauge / Sender

I'll bet the float has a hole rusted in it and will not float. It's almost always the float. It's easy to check. Just pull the sending unit out (drain the gas first) and take a look. Let us know what you find. Scott

    67-68 Dual tips

Marty, The original tips for your car were chrome plated. If you can save them and have them replated that is the best way to go. The reproductions are poor quality and getting worse with every new run that is made. Scott

    1968 Fixer-up-er?

I'd say $1,500 is too much. Doesn't sound like there is much there and what is there is rusty. Scott

SOLD All original 1968 Mustang GT/CS California Special

I'll jump in here. I've had some 6-cyl Mustangs and frankly couldn't tell much difference between them and a 289 2-bbl. The car for sale looks like a darn nice car. I'd be proud to own it, 6-cyl or not. Scott

    Wanted Wanted 428 GT/CS

That's a pretty tall order. They only made 3-factory 428 GT/CS cars. They made 9-CJ HCS cars though. Of the 9-HCS cars produced, I think 6 are accounted for. I assume you are looking for a factory 428 car...is that right? Scott
