    1968 Taillights help

The neutral safety switch/backup light switch has a finite adjustment. On your car it is on the transmission where the linkage hooks onto the tranny from the shifter. It has two 1/4 20bolts holding it on and has oval holes for adjustment by turning it. Jack the car up to gain access and have...

    1968 Low idle problem

I do not believe it is heat related or fuel pump related. The glass fuel filters let you see what you believe is low fuel to the carb. It is not and they normally look like they are empty. Trust me there is fuel in the float bowl. It may be as simple as carb adjustment, and proper idle...

    1968 Headers

You will see very little benefit if any from any kind of a header with your stock build. Now if you match a new intake, a larger camshaft profile, and a 4 barrel carb you will see improvement in power. Stick with your stock manifolds. A stock 2 barrel 289 will get low twenties MPG in stock...

    . Triple "B's" Garage

Marty should get his 3795 Holley in the A. M. tomorrow. A rebuilder had installed a 6.5 power valve instead of a 7.5. Got it dialed in very nice on the 390 Cougar at my disposal. Might have dropped in to an 8.5 as the idle circuit on these carbs was so lean due to the start of the emission...

    1968 Brake Booster and Pedal

My experience shows both the Bendix and the Midland Ross booster in 1968. Early 1968 cars may have had the Midland Ross style and later cars the Bendix. Not sure of the break point or any differences in plants where Ford cars were built. rob

    1968 Getting some rare option

My GT/CS had that option. Same switch. Actually used it many times and it did do a nice job in the winter up here in the Seattle area. Made it a one of one. Not that that is a big deal. Rob
