    1968 Seat Cover Change

Thanks a lot for all the input. I shall order the new seat covers and tools and have a go at it. Worst case I have to swallow my pride and take a half finished job to the shop. Very nice looking seats there Rob... Sigh...the constant question...stay true to authenticity or make the car exactly...

    1968 Seat Cover Change

One more thing, I am buying a new horn ring and I see there is both chrome and argent. Telling which it should be from the original I have on the steering wheel today is not possible. I got a standard black interior. Is it the chrome one I should have? /J

    1968 Seat Cover Change

Hi, Winter and its time for next step of restoration. Last winter I rebuilt the grille which was standard 68 and made a nice replica of the original and also changed grille mouldings, painted the grille and mouldings and pedestals, fitted the correct Lucas lights and fixed electrical wiring so...

    1968 Interior restoration

I am about to start the interior restoration of my car and started to question if the pad/flat area behind the back seat really is the original material. To me it looks just like a painted piece of board. I attach a close up, is this what I should look like?

    1968 Solenoid question

Thanks! It turned out to be a wire connection on the starter that wasnt tight enough. I still don't understand why the connection allowed the starter to engage but not to crank the engine. If anyone cares to educate me, feel free. /Jesper

    1968 Solenoid question

I changed the solenoid. When I turn the key, there is now a clear "clack" which I guess would be the starter engaging so I assume the solenoid now is ok. But then nothing. The starter doesn't crank the engine. When I release the key there is another "click" which I again guess is the starter...

    1968 Solenoid question

A couple of times now my car has just been dead when I turn the key. By tapping the solenoid it engages and starts, so my guess is the solenoid is not what it should be. I am not sure but I think the solenoid is fairly new, that the P.O put it in 4 years ago. A few questions for you mechanics...

    1968 Replacing Rear Bumper

You shouldn't need to remove them. When I removed my rear bumper I bolted on bumper guards and when they were on I reinstalled the bumper. If reinstalling bumper works with guards, so should disassembly. It was very easy and I did it myself just holding the bumper in place with my knee while...

    1968 Replacing Rear Bumper

I changed bumper this weekend and found it easier to just unscrew the light from the bumper and let it hang while I bolted on the new bumper and then I just screwed the light back on. But I didn't change the rubber shield.

1968 What paint for the Lucas tube stands?

We never managed to get the exact mix for the dark grey metallic and medium titanium poly and had to pick a color by trying to match photos. Not the best... Anyways, got the parts back today and it looks great and will look nice on the car but I think it is too light. I am not doing a concourse...

1968 What paint for the Lucas tube stands?

Well, the paintshop called today and said they don't find a recipe for the Dark Gray Metallic Ditzler/PPG #32930. And this is a shop only using PPG. The owners are well into Classic Mustangs but have never seen a GT/CS before. They have called around but just draw a blank. Have anyone of you...

1968 What paint for the Lucas tube stands?

The work on the grille is all done, now it's just the paint job to do. Since my Lucas lights where mounted incorrectly and too far towards the right and left sides I refitted them using the 14,84 inches measure from the edge of the grille moulding, but that does not align them exactly in front...
