    1968 Marchal lights

Dave, I was not aware of the VIN controversary on your car. That is very interested and it makes me wonder if your car was pulled after completed and later converted to a GT/CS on the San Jose line as mine may have been. And your car may have been on the stage. There was at least one gold...

    1968 Marchal lights

Dave, Every time I see your car I think of my GNS that I sold. These two cars were so similar in paint and trim and both very loaded. Both were prior to the reveal for the GT/CS in California. Both have recessed reflectors. Both had black out hood treatment. Both had Marchals. You have a...

    1968 Marchal lights

Scott, I agree. Personally I have always liked the look of the Marchal lights over the Lucas. They seem to fit the grill opening better and with the grill bracket they seemed more solid and did not look like an ad on. My opinion only!!!! Rob

    1968 stock exhaust manifolds

Learn something new every day!! Thanks guys. I have had more that a couple carbs I rebuilt get there choke crapped up again with dirty air. Not in my garage but by an owner that does not clean this passage out before installing the carb I rebuilt for them. I usually just blow them out with...

    1968 stock exhaust manifolds

The right side provides a heat source for the choke. The upper hole is where the tube from your choke goes into. The bottom tube does a 180 and heads up to a tube fitting in the top of the carb air cleaner base area on the right side of the top plate This allows the chole to draw clean air...

    . Block casting numbers

Dad, This C9OE-C is a 1969-1974, 302 Windsor small-block, 2-bolt mains. The 6015 number is simply the basic part number for the engine block. I feel that there may have been some differences the start of the VIN stamping on the engines. Yours may have slipped through or just wasn't stamped. Rob

1968 Fog light brackets - again

All, I had hope to make some of the pedestals, nuts and such for these brackets. I have a sizable quantity of the square reinforcing washers for the grill reinforcement (4 required). I have the taps and dies (English thread pitch) to manufacture the nuts and clean up the threads on the posts...

    1968 GT/CS Convertible???

Also, the consecutive unit number of 108513 and recessed reflectors makes this a December 1967 or earlier car. IMO this makes the car fully assembled as a coupe on the line. Unlike a California Special where the conversion was easy form stock coupe to a GT/CS, I find it hard to believe that...

    1968 GT/CS Convertible???

It would be very interesting to see it on a lift. To see what was underneath as far as factory bracing. A convertible is WAW different than a coupe. I would submit that Ford would never convert a coupe to a convertible after the car was finished. It would be a huge undertaking to do it to...

Right side scoop has the witness line that makes it a candidate as original. Both hood receptacles are shown. This car has promise but needs to be seen in person. Rob

1966-67 HCS running hot & ignition timing

So what is your initial timing set at now. I have a jar full of springs and washers for the factory vacuum advance units. What you have done now is you have increased the spring load pressure on the diaphragm so it comes in slower than before. This is fun tuning talk for me. I learn as we...

1966-67 HCS running hot & ignition timing

Back in he day when they were daily drivers and brand new standard bore I would agree. Now a days most cars see 70's and above when they are driven. I am the exception to that up here in the Seattle area. My cars are driven on any dry day. The difference of 15 degrees in my experience helps...

1966-67 HCS running hot & ignition timing

I feel that a properly tuned small block Ford should basically operate at the thermostat heat as stamped on the unit. When these cars were new in the 1960's most came with a 195 degree thermostat. Not sure if hot areas received a 180 thermostat or not. These cars were daily drivers and...
