    1968 Wow, Just Wow

HUGE OUCH! Not sure if I agree with some of the posts on VMF. More info is needed, but he got screwed big time. The mods he had done were not much more than rebuilding the stock stuff. And he is in Washington state..... Rob

    1968 Black CS Project

Neil, It will be fine at .060 over for a nice stock driver. I also would stay with a 180 thermo. Rob

    1968 Black CS Project

.060 is doable for this short block, but as Arlie says it is max overbore. If it is a vin number match block it can be used if it is ok a .060. I just did a 289 HIPO block for .040 to .060. It is fine and does not overheat at all. If it is not the VIN stamped block I would check around and...

    1968 4v Intakes

Arlie, In my opinion the single change of replacing a stock 4V intake with a modern aluminum one will do nearly nothing performance wise that you can feel. The reduction in weight is about the only difference. Now couple the change with a bigger cam and headers and you will see its true value...

    1968 Gas cap

I got tired of that to. So I installed a straight pipe in the trunk up to about the trunk opening with a gas cap. A small bracket to the hood hinge bolt. Left the stock one on with a blank off plate. No permanent modification and can be put back stock in about 30 minutes. A great fix for...

Arlie, Great charts! They will help a lot of our owners figure out what they want to do as far as gear ratios. Rob

    1968 Road Warrior 2

Arlie, I think 3.25 would a great ratio for you!! A bit more spunky and great cruising rpm's! Rob

    1968 Road Warrior 2

Actually a 289 auto Mustang with 2.79 gears will approach 20 to 21 miles to the gallon on a nice flat stretch. I had one that did that. With that thinking you are in the ball park. The reason modern cars get better mileage is a combination of fuel injection, friction reduction, variable...

    1968 Road Warrior 2

Arlie, Whew, that car did not leave my garage like that. It also purred like a kitten and the choke worked great. The one tube goes to the fitting on the top right side of the carb that kinda angles forward. It connects to the fitting with a short vacuum hose. This allows the choke to draw...
