1968 Proper attachment of trickle charger....

I always connect the positive first and then the negative, same as when I install the battery cables. Since the charger won't be plugged in until after you connect the cables though, it doesn't really matter either way. Steve

    1968 %&#@$ Ammeter/Circuit

Neil, both wires should have the same resistance for the ammeter to even have a chance to work, and the lower it is, the better. Wires, and the connections, build up corrosion after time that increases resistance. All wiring has resistance in it. The longer the length and the smaller the wire...

1968 Suspension parts kit or individual pcs?

My thoughts are, how much is your car and life worth. I don't skimp on suspension or brake parts. To me, my car and my life are worth an extra hundred or so. TRW and Moog are both excellent choices, and all I use. As for reusing parts, you need to inspect carefully. The rubber boots on the ball...

    1968 reasons why you own a 1968 GT/CS

I bought it as a package deal with my '71 Boss 351. And I have a friend that had one in the 70's/80's. And they're just kind of cool. And you meet the nicest people with one. Steve

    1968 Exhaust Question

Rob, you should see the Tiger now! I have the entire interior out, carpet and all. I'm looking for Miata or S2000 seats so I can have something with built in headrests. Steve PS. Thanks once again for storing it during my short lived move to Seattle.

For Sale 1968 GT/CS in San Francisco CL

If by "critical" you mean me suggesting you should post pictures and info on the car condition, yep, guilty as charged. I was trying to help you with the sale. Would you send $24K to someone across the country if they didn't want to post pics or a description? Steve

    1968 Mystery Wire

Neil, I'll see what I can find for you on the tach, but Ford used a "two wire" tach, with one wire being power and the other supplying power for the coil (in the run position). I just need to see where the different connections were located. The down side of this kind of setup is, if your tach...

    1968 Ignition Circuit

I remember seeing that picture before Marty. Hurts every time! Electricians are taught to stand to the side of a panel when engaging a breaker or disconnect in case of arc flash. Not a bad idea to stand to the side of a car when starting in case it moves. "Sparky"
