    1968 CONELEC returns

Very nice! I never knew Ford had a prototype fuel injection set up for the Cleveland. I wish they could/would have pursued it and made it standard equipment for my Boss 351. Steve

1966-67 HCS 289 rear crankshaft seal

I remember a looooong time ago hearing of a tool to pull the rope seal through, but never saw it done. Rob, your turn. Steve

    1968 Marti report question

What Scott said, plus: The 289 was used from 1965 to 1968. You can think of a 302, which came out in 1968, as a stroker version of a 289, rather than a 289 as a "destroked" 302. The evolution of the Ford small block is something worth investigating if you have an interest in engines. The 289...

    For Sale Seen on CL

Looks like a 1967 hood, with no hood pins. I'd definitely get a Marti before buying. Steve

ADMIN CALL FOR PHOTOS! -Submit your pics for the 2014 CS Calendar! - Deadline Oct 4, 2013

I missed it too. I moved to Seattle and back and didn't even get to drive the CS this summer. Still getting unpacked and stuff put away. Steve

    1968 Powder coat

I did much the same thing with my chassis parts, but used NAPA chassis black paint. I did it to keep bare metal parts from rusting, and I like the look. If you can do it on the cheap at work, I say go for it. Steve

I think that Rob is so good at spending other people's money because he practiced so much with his own! I always get goose bumps when I see the stacks under the hood of his car. Steve

    1968 The purple wire

You can thank me when and if, I'm proven correct. The prints and info on it aren't real clear. More of a "reasonable doubt" sort of guess than a solid proof. Steve

For Sale Ebay 1968 Ford Mustang GT/CS

Not being from the east coast, and not knowing New Jersey, I wouldn't buy anything from there until I personally verified it wasn't flood damaged from the hurricane. The salvage title makes you wonder. It looks nice though, and the price is a steal otherwise. Steve

    1968 The purple wire

From what I can find, the purple wire is the "Prove Out", which is active when the ignition switch is in the "Start" position. It provides a ground for the brake warning indicator in the dash, to illuminate the bulb and show it's functioning. Steve

Old fuel stops - great pictures!

There may have been more than one, but the Bomber station in the first picture was in Portland, Or. I remember buying gas there in the 70's and 80's. I find it interesting that they tried ethanol gas "way back when". It obviously failed without government coercion. Finally, I'd like to see...
