1968 Concours on the Avenue, Carmel by the Sea

Congratulations on a huge, well deserved win! I would've been nervous of the competition as well. The winged mopars are the only ones I've really liked, and those are some nice pieces you were up against. Steve

. Blethering Place Collector Car Show in Victoria

I saw that and even tried to look up "Snark" but came up empty. The best I ever saw was an MG with a 426 Hemi in it. The driver couldn't even see over the engine! I keep thinking of building a car with a Nissan 3.5L, Corvette door handles,.... oh wait, that's Arlie's dream! Steve

. Blethering Place Collector Car Show in Victoria

It was Sunlit Gold and her "name" here was Goldie. Last I talked to her, she was trying to get in touch with Jon and rejoin, but that was months ago and I haven't seen her show up. Steve

1968 Front end sit higher than back end of GTCS

+1 for rear springs. My rear springs were shot because the engine had been stored in the trunk for 25 years. I bought the Eaton GT springs and it leveled the car out. With that being said, I like lowered front ends for the handling benefits, but a lowered front and worn out rear don't really...

. Blethering Place Collector Car Show in Victoria

There used to be a member here that lived in Victoria that had a Tiger in addition to a CS. Her name was Dru (husband was Wil). Do you know them and was one of the Tiger's theirs? Steve

SOLD 68 CS (Members of CS.com Only please)

I think I'd get killed if I hauled home another project, but the 12 step program failed miserably with me. I just can't help it. I wish I had an extra half acre or so for storage. It would be nice to look at and see if you could just cut out the rust in the roof and weld in new metal without...

    For Sale '69 Coupe "clone"

Well what can you say? I've seen this car a couple of times and talked to the guy several years ago. If it's the same person, he was decent enough. Just thought I'd post it in case someone wanted something a little "different". http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/2548389254.html Steve

    . 2011 International Mustang Meet

Well what kind of host would I be if I allowed that to happen? I have two cars entered and no idea how to get the second one there. Can you help me out? PM sent. Steve

    . 2011 International Mustang Meet

If things change, throw it together and come on over. It's not as nice (hot) here this year as usual, and I know a place in Post Falls that can do emergency repairs if needed. Steve

    . 2011 International Mustang Meet

I checked with Hot Rod Cafe this morning, and if I let them know by the 31st how many will be in our party, they'll make sure they have an area where we can all sit together, instead of booths that hold 4. Steve

    Happy birthday donna

Sorry I missed your B-day Donna. I was on the river. Hope you had a great time because you're a great person and certainly deserve it. Steve

    . 2011 International Mustang Meet

Hot Rod Cafe is here in Post Falls, about 35 miles from the show. I'll swing by in the next few days and see if I can reserve a section for the CS crowd. If others feel like skipping the Bar-B-Q and going there, let me know so I can get an idea how much room we'll need. Steve

    . 2011 International Mustang Meet

I'm about 35 miles from the show site, and was wondering if everyone wanted to do just a CS get together. At this point, I'll just plan on everyone doing the Bar-B-Q, etc at the show, and then any that want to come over and hang out Fri or Sat after dinner are welcome. I'm leaving tomorrow early...

1968 Lucas Fog lights covers: Are these correct?

I think the concensus is that the GT/CS didn't come with covers, but the round hole ones are the period correct covers. Steve

    . 2011 International Mustang Meet

OK, I'm in between trips and we're getting real close to the meet. So what are our plans? Do you guys that are attending want to just do the socials and BBQ's at the meet or come to my place? Arlie, are you showing up? Do you need a ride from the airport or anything? Anyone else? I'm gone...

    Change or Delete Ad?

I think only Jon can delete the ad, once someone has responded to it, so I would just change it to reflect the current circumstances. Steve

    1968 Repairing damaged fiberglass

You would have to build a mold from your original, lay in the broken one and then build up the missing areas. Probably more trouble than it's worth. I would grind down a little of the edge of the part, lay out some fiberglass cloth in the general shape you need, resin it, and then start building...

1968 Refinish or replace hood locks

Mine looked worn when I restored the car, so in ignorance, I had them chromed. I really wish I hadn't done it, so I think the electroless nickel finish Mike suggested would be better. You can always check a companies return policy and order the repops to see what you think as well. Steve
