    Grass Valley Get-Together

Can someone help me find the thread on the GT/CS & HCS BBQ/car show/what ever in Grass Valley California this summer? Thanks Scott

Royal Maroon GT/CS on ebay in Victorville, CA

It's been messed with some. The smog system would have only come on a 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission car. This car has had an automatic transmission added or an engine change (or smog added). Something doesn't add up. Scott

    Vacuum connections without Smog

Oops. That's what I meant. Small block. Thanks. Scott

    Vacuum connections without Smog

Rich, If you have a 289/2V Automatic, your car should have a dual-diaphram vacuum advance. The only 1968 Mustang that came from the factory with a single-diaphram vacuum advance was a 302/4V Automatic (with and without air). Scott

    Vacuum connections without Smog

The 302 has smog because it's a manual transmission car. And the 289 does not have smog because it's an automatic transmission car. No 1968 Mustangs with automatic transmissions came from the factory with smog. It is a common belief that California Mustangs had smog and other state cars did...

Red GT/CS in Texas on eBay

The Marti report shows standard black interior, but the car has a black decor interior. Odd. Scott

Red GT/CS in Texas on eBay

I'd have a hard time believing this car has 9,000-original miles on it. The driver's door has obviously been painted. The grain/texture appears to be worn off the steering wheel pad. That doesn't happen in 9,000-miles. It's a great and desireable car, but I wouldn't pay a premium for it...

Red GT/CS in Texas on eBay

Arlie, I talked to the owner several weeks ago about the car. Some things I would have liked to see on the car would have been the original smog and original exhaust. A car with 9,000-original miles should still have the original exhaust. Don't know if you looked at the rear end, but the tag...

GT/CS Taillight Harness I.D. and Restoration

Paul, Did you ever check with Ford to see if they had a wiring diagram for the GT/CS taillight harness? Scott

    J-code Harmonic Balancer or Damper

That does look right. It would be nice to have a few other pictures though. Should be graduated from -10 to 30. Have him send you the entire part number and casting date code. Scott

    J-code Harmonic Balancer or Damper

C8OE-6316-A1 or C80E-6316-A2. Both are correct for 1968 302. Scott

    R code CS question

Rob, I wonder it you and I are talking about two different things (reinforced vs welded). Scott

    R code CS question

I've never heard of anything other than 428 Cobra Jet Mustangs having reinforced shock towers in 1968. That would include regular Mustang, HCS, GT/CS, and GT500KR. Cougars were different, I'm just talking Mustangs. Maybe a few other than 428s got the reinforced shock towers, but it was the...

    R code CS question

I have an R-code HCS and it has reinforced shock towers just line all 428 CJ Mustangs and Shelbys in 1968. There is no other reinforcing that I am aware of. Scott

Possible J-Code in San Diego $12,500

    Interesting 2-tone paint.

    vacuum advance

The only small-block V-8 Mustang produced in 1968 without a dual-diaphram vacuum advance is a 302 4-bbl with automatic transmission. All other engine configurations had the dual-diaphram vacuum advance. California delivered 302 4-bbl Mustangs with automatic transmissions also had the...

    vacuum advance

You were told wrong. It should be single advance for Mustangs with 302, 4-bbl, and automatic transmission. Scott

    Console Question

I had a part "restored" by Perogie and it was complete junk when I got it back. They refused to give me a refund or exchange the part. Basically told me "too bad".

Show Boards: What information do you put?

The question of who owns what data got me to thinking about the production numbers for GT/CS (and all Mustangs for that matter). The only credible numbers come from Kevin Marti as far as I know. Who owns them? Kevin or Ford? Paul, I look forward to quoting you from your new book. Any...
