    1968 Flashers

Dave, The turn signal switch is prone to failure as it was designed to support only two rear taillights and not six. The LED lights are much brighter and take a lot less draw and preserve your turn signal switch. A win/win all he way around. You can even install them in your front turn signal...

1968 Take a look at my Lucas Fog Light situation

All, I have a British Fine Thread tap and die now. Perfect fit to the Lucas Fog Lamp threads. I have sourced 3/4 hex stock to make exact replicas of the Lucas light nuts. I have 1/ 1/8 round stock and will make perfect copies of the stanchions. The square washers that reinforce the grill and...

1968 What is one of the earliest California Special VIN numbers

Bruce, Great Point! I think we need to see some close up pictures of the trunk lid. Rob

1968 What is one of the earliest California Special VIN numbers

We may have misled you. If you provide the complete VIN number I have seen Arlie pony up for a standard Marti report, but you will not lose much to do it yourself. They are not that expensive and it "may" reveal that it is a GT/CS. With its very early VIN number it almost certainly is a...

    1968 Tail/Brake Light Ground

Perfect approach and you will thank yourself for the extra effort to do it!! Rob

    1968 Tail/Brake Light Ground

Kinda is what I talked about. Grounds to each socket is the hot ticket. The pot metal to socket "ground" is iffy at best. You need to ground the socket housing of each socket to ensure perfect grounds and bright lights. Rob

    1968 Tail/Brake Light Ground

Dave, Are you referring to the tail light sockets? The ground for the taillights is attached to the frame work that surrounds the gas filler pipe inside the trunk. It is on the right side of this frame work about 6 inches down from the trunk opening lip. These cars are notorious for poor...

Steve, I think you are correct and a great observation of the parts as they were produced. Rob

1968 What is one of the earliest California Special VIN numbers

Scott, This will certainly start some interesting discussion. It has been stated that the first 14 GT/CS cars had "handmade California Special Scripts". The 14 cars that were at the debut of the cars on February 15th 1968 were very loaded optioned cars. These cars would IMO never had been...

    6-Cylinder '68 Mustang

How cool is that!!!!!! A boosted 4 barrel 6 shooter. Bet it makes tons of power and the block and cranks are nearly bomb proof!! Back in the day Ak Miller was a big Ford 6 builder. I have seen one of his motors with six motorcycle carbs on it!! Way cool!! Rob

    . Triple "B's" Garage

Dan, Interesting. Eric's and Sheryl's carb have the screw slots. Just when you think you see a pattern..... The fact that you have the plugs ensures me that your carbs throttle plate is original. This area on later carbs is not drilled. This is cool stuff! Rob

Sheryl, Gem's carb is in the mail! I want to talk with you before you put it on! I am very confident that your car will love it!! Rob

    . Triple "B's" Garage

Sheryl, I need a close up of the "front" studs that hold your car to the manifold. You took pics of the back ones. Low enough to see the throttle plate about 1 inch in from the stud itself. You can see the angle on the pics I took of your carb for Gem which will ship out to you tomorrow!! Rob
