1968 Drive and enjoy or Sell for something new?

If it were me I would drive it to get my investment back in fun. I do not think there would be al lot of difference in the price you get for it if you never drive it or you take very good care of it and drive it a few thousand miles a year. The price on these cars is creeping up and the longer...

    For Sale 1968 GT/CS J -code in WA $$$

Fog lights are mounted incorrectly. Usually where there is smoke there is fire. For that number it should be perfect.

    HCS Badge

I am the HCS register and from what I can see they look authentic to me. You may want to search through the threads for people looking for badges for their cars. Marty

    HCS Badge

They are 1966 HCS badges. I would say they would be worth $200 in that condition.

    1968 Marchal lights

I have not had a GT/CS with the Marchals but the standard Ford GT lights are great. It makes me wonder if the reproduction stuff is lighter gage.

    1968 Marchal lights

I would not worry too much what they look like on the car. What is important is where they are aimed. The is a page in the service manual that tell how to set the light patterns.

    1968 stock exhaust manifolds

Yes they do come apart. The bottom cap is pressed in, you can use a chisel and knock it out. Then pull out the element. NPD has kits that provide a new cap and element. Replacing this is the only way to insure that debris will not find its way in to your choke piston IMHO.

    1968 Battery

It was a Autolite. It could have been a 22F if it was standard or a 24F if it was a heavy duty. The heavy duty was standard in the 390. Here is a picture of a 24F and a NOS 22F.

    . Block casting numbers

I agree that it is most likely is a replacement block. I have never have seen a original car that was not stamped. It was a federal mandate.

    1968 Courtesy Light Group

The standard tail light harness does not have the wire for the trunk light. I gave you the location above it is the same as a Shelby. You will also need to run a ground wire like the Shelby have because of the fiberglass deck lid.

    1968 Courtesy Light Group

Do you have the courtesy light group option listed on your Marti report? It was not standard on all cars. The wire connected to the trunk harness a green wire with a red connector on the passenger side and routed in the a round hole on the front corner of the deck lid. The light mounted on a...

    1968 Registry Data

Very cool information. That was a lot of work, thank you. Does this include the HCS's? The reason I ask is I see that there are 8 R codes listed and I thought there are only 3 GT/CS R codes? Marty
